Esther Choi

Dr. Esther Choi joined the Animal Dental Clinic in September 2024 after completing the Dentistry and Oral Surgery residency at the University of Pennsylvania. She received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and completed clinical training at North Carolina State University. After graduating, she completed a one-year rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at a multi-specialty hospital in Seattle, Washington and then practiced in emergency medicine in Southern California prior to starting her Dentistry and Oral Surgery residency.

Dr. Choi loves seeing the significant impact on quality of life that veterinary dental treatments can have on patients and appreciates that oral health is an important component in the overall health of the patient. Her goals include providing essential treatment for patients in need, continued management of oral health and prophylactic treatments, as well as ensuring that the client is well informed and completely comfortable throughout the whole process. Dr. Choi has a special interest in maxillofacial trauma and reconstruction as well as patients with palatal defects. She also loves teaching and enjoys working with students and veterinarians with interest in Dentistry and Oral Surgery.

Dr. Choi is originally from the East Coast and grew up in North Carolina, but has lived in all different parts of the United States. She has a particular love for aquatic animals (which was her veterinary passion prior to encountering dentistry and oral surgery) and the ocean. She can most likely be found in or near the ocean when not at work.  She also enjoys playing sports, spending time with her pup Copper, and making and/or enjoying good food.
