Insuring your pet’s oral health for a happier life

Optimal oral health for your companion animals begins with basic oral health examinations and cleanings. From birth to maturity Bad cat breathchanges are occurring in the bone and tooth structure which your veterinarian will assess at each physical exam. When development takes a “wrong turn” we can evaluate the condition and provide treatment options for your consideration. As a pet lover you have the most important job of all, daily homecare and frequent checks of your pet’s mouth and teeth. Keeping the tooth surfaces free of plaque and recognizing problems is the ultimate goal, and we can teach you how to accomplish this easily, and efficiently. But your pet needs a professional evaluation and cleaning occasionally just as you do. Your dentist has you come in for x-rays and a dental hygienist’s attentions at least once a year, and we recommend the same schedule for most pets as well. Problems you can easily recognize often start with bad breath, (halitosis), broken teeth, red and bleeding gums, eating problems and soreness. Many of these are symptoms of advanced oral disease which requires advanced dental care such as root canal therapy, braces and oral surgery. Client education is very important to us. We believe that we serve our patients best by working together with you and your primary care veterinarian to help keep your pet healthy.

Our dental operatories are equipped similarly to a human dental office including state of the art dental units, dental x-ray with digital dental radiography units and computerized dental charting software for dogs and cats. Since most animal dental patients are treated under general anesthesia, we custom design our anesthetic protocol and vital life sign monitors to give pets the best possible individual care while under anesthesia.
